Intro and OOTD 7/24/17

Fashion for me has always been a form of self expression. Growing up with four older sisters, each more beautiful than the next, fashion was a means to make a statement and stand out. However, I am also a frugal and broke college student. As Nina Garcia once said, "fashion is expensive. Style is not. Some of the most stylish girls I know are certainly not the wealthiest." So in this sense, I think that, if I do say so myself that I am stylish -- no fashionable. Although I hope to someday be both. So some of the nicer pieces you see here are mostly either hand-me-downs, thrifted, or bought on sale. Of course there will be the occasional splurge item, a girl can only control herself to an extent.

I am a very opinionated person and as such am not afraid to speak my mind. I'm planning this to be a blog mostly dedicated to fashion, but that doesn't exclude topics like politics and science. Sometimes the two go hand in hand. Other things, like my endeavors as a Connecticut girl going to college in New York will probably make it here too (seriously what are Regents, I don't think I'll ever understand). So sit back, keep an open mind, and enjoy (hopefully).

Home for the summer in Connecticut and today was a cool 62 and rainy. For these purposes I decided to wear high-waisted jeans and a cropped three-quarter sleeve shirt. My oxfords are faux-patent leather and water proof in nature so I opted for those instead of clunkier and warmer rain boots.
